MERIDIAN, TX - I am writing to formally announce my candidacy for Bosque County Attorney in the upcoming 2024 election. This decision comes after conversations with county residents, a thorough consideration of the legal needs of the community, and a personal reflection on how best I can contribute to Bosque County.
Bosque County is a special place—built on strong values, a sense of community, and a commitment to upholding law and order. It is also a place that, like any other, faces challenges that require thoughtful solutions. I am running for County Attorney because I believe we need someone who can stand firm in enforcing our laws, while offering guidance that emphasizes both justice and fiscal responsibility.
In these times, supporting our local law enforcement has never been more critical. As County Attorney, I plan to stand firmly alongside our county’s finest. I aim to provide them with the legal resources they need to continue safeguarding our community and maintaining peace in our homes and streets.

While the responsibilities of the County Attorney are relatively specific and limited, I believe it's important for the voters to know where I stand on broader issues that matter to our community. I'm a firm supporter of the Second Amendment and the rights of Americans to keep and bear arms. I believe in the need to maintain border security as a fundamental to the preservation of a sovereign nation. I support our county's agricultural industry and believe that ag is, and should always remain, the foundation of our county’s and our nation’s economy. I support the right of parents to raise their children as they see fit, and to be fully informed about what they’re being taught in school. As a conservative Christian, I believe deeply in the right to free speech and freedom of religion. Lastly, I support our military, and the soldiers who have served our country, who make it possible for us to exercise these sacred freedoms safely and securely.
One of the aspects that makes Bosque County truly great is its tight knit community—it is a place where kids can still ride their bikes in the street, just like they have for generations. My commitment is to contribute to preserving this way of life for generations to come, through conservative legal counsel, an emphasis on law and order, and an emphasis on ensuring that the local decisions that affect our residents are made at the local level.
Transparency and cost-efficiency in our county's legal administration will be a priority

during my term. While the County Attorney is not directly in charge of fiscal decisions, the role involves offering advice that can impact financial outcomes. My approach will be to advocate for decisions that are conservative and transparent.
I pledge to serve with integrity, to be accountable to you—the people of Bosque County, and to uphold the values and traditions that make our county great. I would be honored to earn your vote in the upcoming election.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to the opportunity to serve as your next Bosque County Attorney.
Sincerely,
Max Smith
Candidate for Bosque County Attorney
